Getting in the industry
The best way to get into the media industry is to do a university degree but also do some work experience at the same time. A sandwich course would be best for this. As important as the degree is the work experience is the key part and knowing how to do something is better than knowing what to do.
I feel i am suited for the media industry but am not yet ready to go into a full time job. I feel doing more education will ensure i do get a job as the media field is very competitive.

What is an internship
"Internships offer students a period of practical experience in the industry relating to their field of study. This experience is valuable to students as a means of allowing them to experience how their studies are applied in the "real world", and as work experience that can be highly attractive to potential employers on a candidate's CV."
I think i would be suitable for these roles as it is very similar for what i am doing at the moment. I believe i have all the skills that are listed and have the determination that they seek
For this you get paid £20,000 per year but if you work in london you get £25,000 per year with all you travel expenses paid. This makes the travel worth it.

From having done all of this research i now know the cost/pay and both the rewards of university and/or an internship. I now understand the different types of learning that different options house and also each uni teaches in a different style. I know all of the uni's that suit my style of learning. I know an internship is more hands on and that is what suits me better.
I would pick an internship over 3 years at uni however if i could not find the perfect internship i would decide to go to uni. This is because i would rather do more written work if it was interesting compared to practical work that didn't interest me at all.

Gap Year
When To Go - The summer is the best time to go as it will be hot and we can enjoy the warmth while on tour.
Visas - No visa is needed as it is all in the EU
Money - We will need about £1500 to get around and sleep plus any spending money and money for food
Travel Companies - Don't need any help beacause of the simplification of the route
Film It - The Film will be amazing (on Blu-Ray)
Before or After UNI - Don't know, depends on how likely we are to afford it.

University Visits
The Universities I have visited are Lincoln, Bristol, Ravensbourne, SAE, Solent (Southampton). All of these offer the same degree but all offer different things in terms of course content, accommodation and location. These are the three factors I judged the university's on. For example Lincoln had an 8 on the course, a 10 on accommodation and a 10 on location. Whereas for SAE it was a different story. It got Course content 9.5, Accomodation 5 and location 6. I didn't just visit these universities to see the course but also how it would be to live there, and i felt this was just as important as the course content.
University Interviews
Only one the the Universities of my choice asked for an interview, this was ravensbourne. I had the interview at 10:45 on tuesday the 22nd of January 2019. I had little time to plan or prepare but i was confident and i felt that was the deciding factor. During the interview the said that from the work i showed them they could see i knew how to research and plan a production and not just film. They said they saw potential and gave me a conditional offer from that.

This is because i would rather do more written work if it was interesting compared to practical work that didn't interest me at all. This is because my strengths are more on the practical side and this will be stressed in my personal statement. Where I lack qualities in writing highly detailed information i make up with my practical work. I feel this makes up and and more.
