I believe I am very creative and I feel I could make a project very professional and while having fun. I also have a degree patience, I always like things to be perfect. I will stay focused to the very end of a project as it is important to keep all your ideas in one place and not let them wander.
What I have chosen?
I have chosen to do EDITING as my specialism. I have chosen this because i feel i enjoy it and also are capable of editing basics. however i want to really push myself so i can make a proper solid edit with special effects i hope to learn. This will enable me to fully understand what is needed when editing.
Why is this specialism important when making productions?
When making production editing is important as it can create more atmosphere. This is done by cutting bits of footage out, changing camera angle and even adding and adjusting sound. If there was no editing in a production it would create no atmosphere because you could not build up to anything. The audience would not stay engaged if there was not editing.
Imagine videotaping a wedding with no editing whatsoever. You’ll have a finished product that looks like any home movie and can’t become much more than something to amuse family members with. It might be all over the place with no flow at all and that starts and stops anytime the event calls for a change in location or angle.
Now imagine you’ve had a professional editor have a go at the wedding video. After the video is properly edited, it flows, doesn’t waste time panning from shot to shot because it cuts to different shots and locations seamlessly and it even might include voice overs and separate interviews with family, who can reminisce about the couple and how they met. Now, it’s a keepsake that can be offered to anyone who attended the event for a small price. And, thanks to the professional video editing – they’ll be happy to pay for it.
The editing process allows for the best possible outcome of a film or video, and it allows the creators to ensure that the finished product is as it was intended.
The film editing process has come a long way and is no longer done by people sitting in a dark room cutting and slicing film together. Much more efficient and valuable editing can be done now on computers where unwanted shots can be removed, audio retouching is completed, transitions are added and effects, credits and titles are incorporated.

The main industry you can work in is the film industry, whether that's movie, trailer, advert or any other section. Editing could be full movies, trailers, animation, advertising and much more. It's a really open industry but a competitive one.

This Video explains how to show emotion through editing. It explains how the characters eyes and how the length of each clip changes the emotion. When the actor uses their voice it doesn't show as much emotion as there eyes which is why in all movies you will still see emotion without sound.
In an L cut, the video layer is cut first and the audio can be heard trailing into the new shot. On your editing timeline, this creates an L shape. In a J cut, the audio layer is cut first, causing the audio from the following shot to be heard early or 'lead' the viewer into the new scene. On your editing timeline, this creates a J shape.
